American Gods by Neil Gaiman

I’ve been a fan of Neil Gaiman for a while, he has written some of my favorite books. Mr. Gaiman has artfully given the readers a look through fresh eyes at the experience of coming to a new country. This story has a rich dark quality that will keep you guessing to the very end. This was a great read, I couldn’t put down. I chose the 10th anniversary edition, which is a bit different than the original. The anniversary edition is the extended version of American Gods that combines the original manuscript along with the first published edition. American Gods has so many interesting characters, that I found myself looking up their origins to get to know them even better. I would still like to know who the comedian was that died in the 1920’s.
Being as I am always traveling I purchased both the book and the audio version. I general prefer the solid book form, but I am also a fan of audio version for travel. If you decide to get the audio book, I suggest the full cast version. It was a treat to hear Mr. Gaiman explain how he came about writing this story, which is an interesting story that leaves readers with the urge to take a road trip to follow this great work. There is also part the story that did not make it into either version of the book. This part can be found after the ending of the anniversary edition.
